About Dr. I.B. Nofsinger
Dr. I.B. Nofsinger came to Texas from his home state of Kentucky at the age of 20. He taught school for a short time and returned to Kentucky to study medicine. He opened a practice in McDade, then in 1906 he moved his practice to Elgin. He and his wife Mary (McWilliams), a pharmacist, built this home and used the downstairs for their practice. Mary designed the house.
