Connecting Elgin to Austin by Passenger Rail!

The City of Elgin is working with Capital Metro, CAMPO, and others to institute Passenger Rail service from Austin to Elgin and beyond.

Austin Community College Annexation
Providing Access to Opportunity &
Economic Development

The Elgin Independent School District became a part of the ACC District by majority vote in November 2010. ACC has purchased land in Elgin to build a campus and ground breaking will be in November 2011 with classes starting at the new campus in 2013. Classes are currently being held at the ACC Elgin Site (one of the existing ISD campuses).

Central Texas Airport

Bastrop County Commissioners have approved incentives for the development of the Central Texas Airport to be built at FM969 and FM1704. Additional information regarding this project can be found by using the link on the left.
