The
Elgin Economic Development Corporation (EDC) may provide
grants for Facade Improvements to buildings in the Downtown Historic District, per business
for the fiscal year. (October through September) This is
a reimbursement program. The building owner/ business owner submits appropriate
documentation and will receive funds after the project is
completed.
Current Grant is a 50%
match with $5,000 cap per project
All requests must be approved before the expenditures are made

Façade improvemjent requests must be
reviewed and approved by the Planning and Development Departmentand the Historic Review Board before the EDC Grant can be approved.
Main Street Board Programs
In addition to the Facade Improvement Grant, the Elgin Main Street Board also offers assistance in the form of grants for facade painting and a dumpster program for renovation work. use the links below to access the applications.
