Your future begins today with Elgin educational options!
Education is a high priority in Elgin. Beginning with a dedicated school district featuring excellent teachers and forward-thinking programming, students build the basis of a strong education in the Elgin Independent School District. A $190 million school bond passed in 2021 to provide for new buildings and critical upgrades.
The Elgin Independent School District serves 5,775 students in three elementary schools, two middle schools, one traditional high school and an alternative high school. A new elementary school, Harvest Ridge, is set to open in the fall of 2024. Additionally, high school students can earn an associate degree at the Austin Community College Elgin campus as part of the Early College High School Program.
Residents are fortunate to live amidst an incredible density of high-quality post-secondary education options. Several universities, colleges, junior colleges and community colleges are accessible within an hour’s drive for options ranging from undergraduate and graduate degree programs to state industrial training and vocational/technical education programs.
